About the Clinic
The main objective of the clinic is to share theoretical-practical knowledge in relation to training planning in triathlon. The content of the clinic is related to the relevant sections of the Level 2 Coaches Course and is delivered in 12 hours of face-to-face sessions. Participants will dig deep into the practice of training programming by being presented with real-life scenarios and solving different training programming tasks for various competition distances, athlete levels, and training environments. They will be analyzing all the conditioning factors when programming the training load for these case studies. The examples are based on data extracted from measurements carried out prior to Development Cups.
Topics related to the long-term development of athletes from youth to elite are also addressed.
Participants must be at least Level 1 Certified Coaches, ideally, they hold a Level 2 certificate and/or completed other studies and already have experience in relation to training planning. This is to achieve a dynamic and interactive delivery where group work and cooperation between participating coaches are present.
By completing the clinic, coaches will have a greater capacity to analyze the factors that affect the different levels of planning (multi-annual cycles, season planning, macrocycles, mesocycles, micro cycles, and individual sessions) and a greater ability to define and distribute the training load and to adapt it to the individual circumstances of their athletes.
