These Terms govern access to and use of digital services operated by World Triathlon.

By accessing or using our services, you agree to comply with these Terms.

1. Services Covered

These Terms apply to all World Triathlon digital services, including but not limited to:

  • triathlon.org
  • accounts.triathlon.org
  • education.triathlon.org
  • TriathlonLive
  • federation administration platforms
  • other digital services operated by World Triathlon

2. User Accounts

Certain services require users to create accounts. By creating an account, you agree to:

  • provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • maintain the confidentiality of login credentials
  • notify World Triathlon of unauthorised access

Users remain responsible for activities conducted through their accounts.

3. Single Sign-On Services

World Triathlon operates a unified authentication system allowing users to access multiple services using a single account.

Users must comply with the rules governing each service accessed through this system.

4. Acceptable Use

Users must not:

  • access systems without authorisation
  • attempt to disrupt services
  • upload malicious software
  • impersonate other individuals
  • attempt to probe or test system vulnerabilities
  • use services for unlawful purposes

World Triathlon may restrict access where misuse occurs.

5. Automated Access and Data Collection

Users must not access or collect data from World Triathlon digital services using automated systems or software without prior written permission from World Triathlon.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • web scraping
  • data mining
  • automated extraction of competition results or rankings
  • automated access through bots or similar technologies

Unauthorised automated access may result in suspension of access to World Triathlon services and other legal remedies where appropriate.

6. User Content

Where users submit content through World Triathlon platforms, users grant World Triathlon a non-exclusive worldwide licence to use such content for the purpose of operating its services.

Users remain responsible for the content they submit.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in World Triathlon digital platforms remain the property of World Triathlon or its licensors.

Content may be viewed for personal and informational purposes only.

Commercial use requires permission from World Triathlon.

8. Media and Broadcast Rights

Video footage, live streams, images and other broadcast content made available through World Triathlon digital services, including TriathlonLive, are protected by intellectual property and broadcast rights.

Users may not reproduce, redistribute, retransmit, display, publish, or otherwise exploit such content without prior written permission from World Triathlon or the relevant rights holder.

Unauthorised recording, restreaming or commercial use of broadcast content may result in suspension of access and other legal remedies where appropriate.

9. Third-Party Services

World Triathlon services may integrate with third-party providers, including payment services, analytics platforms and streaming services.

World Triathlon is not responsible for the policies or practices of independent third-party providers. Users should review the terms and privacy notices of those providers separately.

10. Service Availability

World Triathlon aims to maintain reliable digital services, but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.

World Triathlon does not guarantee the accuracy or availability of competition results, timing data, or statistics displayed on its platforms.

Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance or technical issues.

11. Account Suspension

World Triathlon reserves the right to suspend or terminate user access where users violate these Terms or compromise system integrity.

12. Limitation of Liability

World Triathlon provides digital services on an “as available” basis.

To the extent permitted by law, World Triathlon is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of its services.

13. Privacy

Personal data is processed in accordance with the World Triathlon Privacy Notice.

Users should review the Privacy Notice to understand how their data is collected, used and protected.

14. Governing Law and Arbitration

If the provisions of these Terms conflict with provisions contained in similar third-party documents, the provisions of these Terms shall prevail.

These Terms and all matters arising out of or related to these Terms shall be governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland.

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall, where applicable, be submitted exclusively to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, in accordance with the CAS Code of Sports-related Arbitration.

15. Changes to These Terms

World Triathlon may update these Terms periodically.

Updated versions will be published on the World Triathlon website.
