The aim of the World Triathlon Activator Community Seminar is to support developing National Federations (NFs) to create a team of people who have the basic skills to grow and develop the sport in their area.

The targeted National Federations of the World Triathlon Activator Courses are the ones where Triathlon is in its early stages of development with limited support for the growth of the sport. These NFs host the Activator course locally in run up to an event that they are hosting. The course has usually 16-25 participants from a single NF (the host NF). There are no entry requirements, the Activator Course is open to all.

Facilitators focus on helping Activators to develop the skills to plan and deliver a local event on day 4 of the course as an outcome. This Triathlon (or multi-sport) event is for the local community. The aim is to practice the skills learned during the course and to create an event which can become a regular occurrence and allow the development and progression of the sport for the benefit of the community in the long term.

The course delivery is flexible depending upon the local resources and is focused on applying practical skills. Two facilitators deliver: one with a profile of Technical Officiating & Event Organising and the other with a Coaching profile. Topics cover general Triathlon overview, including officiating (rules), events, and an introduction to training and coaching. Theoretical and practical sessions both are present during the seminar. Participants are awarded with an Attendance Certificate after the course.
