The Senegalese Triathlon Federation (FSTri) wished to benefit from this training in order to have a critical mass of technical officials who, in time, will be competent to officiate in international events. The ultimate objective is to have a sufficient number of technical officials who will be qualified for the YOG Dakar 2026. Previously, these technical officials will also be able to officiate in the Senegalese triathlon championship and during the various international competitions which will be held in Senegal in the years to come.

Selection Criteria:
We have chosen two criteria in the selection of trainees. An age criterion so that technical officials cannot exceed the age required to officiate at the YOG 2026. The second criterion is that the person chosen evolves in a sporting environment. That’s why we recruited sports students, National Olympic Committee volunteers and members of triathlon clubs. For this course, we want the trainees to be equal in number of females and males.

The FSTri has invited all countries in zone 1 who so wish to send trainees to participate in this training.

About the World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Education
The one day and a half course provides the participants with the theoretical and practical training required to make them capable of officiating at National Events as a Technical Delegate and at Continental events as a Technical Official.

A note on gender equity
World Triathlon is dedicated providing equal opportunities to both genders in all aspects. Please remember that this year World Triathlon Development had introduced the gender quota (minimum 25% of the participants must be female) at Technical Officials Level 1 courses. If the 25% minimum is not obtained, the number of participants must be reduced until it is attended.
