November 2025 was another packed month for World Triathlon Technical Official education, with seminars spanning Asia, Africa, and Europe. The month featured education across the full spectrum, from foundational Level 1 courses through to the highest currently available, Level 3. These programs will help strengthened officiating expertise and also improve diversity, international collaboration, and professional growth among officials at all levels.
Seoul, Republic of Korea – Level 1 Seminar (ATOEP)
The November TO education for the month began in Seoul, where 14 Korean officials gathered for the Level 1 seminar. Women made up 64% of participants, reflecting World Triathlon’s ongoing commitment to gender balance in officiating. Over two intensive days, attendees combined theory and practical exercises to develop the skills needed to manage national events as Technical Delegates and continental competitions as Technical Officials. The seminar provided a supportive environment where new officials could gain confidence and build technical expertise.

Saly, Senegal – Level 1 Seminar
From 6–8 November, Senegal hosted a Level 1 seminar in Saly. The one-and-a-half-day course offered a hands-on approach, blending classroom instruction with practical officiating exercises. Participants gained the skills to confidently manage national and continental events.

La Nucia, Spain – Level 1 Seminar (ATOEP)
In La Nucia, 29 Spanish officials attended the three-day Level 1 seminar from 14–16 November, with 41% women in attendance. The course combined theoretical instruction with practical scenarios, allowing participants to experience real-world officiating situations. Interactive exercises encouraged problem-solving, ensuring each official left with a strong foundation to support national and continental events.

Madrid, Spain – Level 3A Seminar
World Triathlon hosted two Level 3A seminars from 31 October to 2 November and from 13 to 16 November in Madrid, Spain, marking a milestone under World Triathlon’s new Certification Program, which now separates Level 3 into in-person Level 3A and online Level 3B pathways.
The seminar was delivered in two cohorts, emphasising international participation. Cohort 1 included 20 officials from AUT, ESP, FRA, GBR, GRE, HUN, ITA, NOR, RSA, and SUI, with 45% women. Cohort 2 brought together 16 participants from BEL, ESP, FRA, GBR, HUN, IRL, LIE, NED, NOR, ROU, ZIM, and LTU, with 25% women.

Across three intensive days, both cohorts explored advanced technical operations for World Triathlon Series venues, Olympic and Para triathlon procedures, team relay management, communication strategies, and sustainability practices. The seminar strengthened the global network of officials capable of supporting competitions at the highest level.
Rio Maior, Portugal – Level 1 Seminar
The Level 1 seminar in Rio Maior, held on 15–16 November, welcomed nine Portuguese officials, two-thirds of whom were women. Mr Fernando Feijao, President of the Portuguese NF, joined the sessions, highlighting the national commitment to developing skilled officials. The seminar provided hands-on experience, reinforcing theoretical knowledge and offering practical insights into officiating Portuguese events.

Madrid, Spain – Level 2 Seminar
Closing out the month, the Level 2 seminar in Madrid took place from 21–23 November, bringing together six eligible European candidates from AUT, ESP, IRL, and SWE. With two-thirds female representation, the seminar offered advanced training for Technical Officials and Event Organisers, preparing participants to manage complex competitions and contribute to the growth of the broader officiating community.

November 2025 demonstrated World Triathlon’s dedication to building a skilled, inclusive, and internationally connected officiating network. From foundational Level 1 courses to advanced Level 3A seminars, these programs provided officials with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to uphold the sport’s standards while fostering collaboration and growth across the global triathlon community.
