SALINAS YOG GENERAL INFORMATION

Distance Swimming Circuit Competition: 750 m. (1 lap)
Swimming at Chipipe beach bay, the start will be from the sandla largada será desde la
arena (200 meters from transition zone). At that time, the sea is very quiet but
simetimes it can be also windy.

Distance Cycling Circuit Competition: 5 Km (4 laps)
The cycling route is technical with 10 bends, some of them too close but it is totally
flat at 4 msnm. It drives us to two jetties of the beaches of Salinas. The streets are in
excellent conditions.

Distance Running Circuit: 1.66 Km. (3 laps)
La route is flat, it goes through Chipipe broadwalk. The asphalt is in well conditions.

Salinas City is located in Santa Elena Peninsula and is the most important resort of
Ecuador. It is a modern and beautiful place that ventures into de Pacific Ocean and
turns out to be in the most outstanding city from Panama towards the South.

Salinas has a huge infrastructure of hotels and national and international gastronomy
and turistic services that go with it georgaphic location and weather. Because of that,
Salinas had been chosen to host very important sports events, like ITU events. They
were held with extraordinary logistics and security procedure of Ecuadorian Triathlon
Federation and Salinas Municipality

The Competition Circuit is flat, quick and safe because it meanders along El circuito de
Malecón de Chipipe, that is part of the urban zone and the Atahualpa Military (Reserva
Marino Costera - REMACOPSE). The swimming satge is developed in the Chippie Cove,
the water temperature is 23 °C and the weather between 25 and 30 °C.
