World Triathlon Development and Education schedule in May was stacked with education courses all around the world, including the Subic Bay World Triathlon Coaches Level 1 Course, Hanoi World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar, Punta Cana World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar and 2022 Kuwait World Triathlon Coaches Level 1 Course. May also saw the launch of the ‘video review’ on the World Triathlon Education Hub, a series designed and developed by two-time World Triathlon Champion Emma Carney. The summary below details the education courses and highlights other initiatives within the World Triathlon Development and Education realm.
2022 Subic Bay World Triathlon Coaches Level 1 Course

2022 Hanoi World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar
The 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) took place 12-23 May 2022 in Hanoi Vietnam, this seminar is an example of how we can leverage the opportunities of the Games to develop our sport that Vietnam is in the process of becoming a new affiliated member of the World Triathlon. World Triathlon introduced the first Technical Officials Community E-Seminar prior to this seminar, with joint efforts of motivated and passionate delegates and dedicated facilitators that allow the 2022 Hanoi World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar to take place on time right before the SEA Games. Regardless of the language barrier during the course, the technical officials showed excellent dedication to the field. Their efforts were well-received by athletes and coaches.

2022 Kuwait World Triathlon Coaches Level 1 Course
At the request of the Kuwait Triathlon Federation, World Triathlon delivered the Coaches Level 1 Course fully funded by the National Federation. This is also an opportunity for our members if they want to take the initiative to host a development course to develop triathlon in their country.

“In line with the development strategy set by the board and management team, Kuwait Triathlon Club has held first-everever Level 1 Coaching Course from May 24th to May 28th 2022 in Marina Hotel in Kuwait. 18 trainees undertook the 5 days course, which was Led by Vicent Beltran the Technical Director of the club in collaboration with Coach Eugene Lee from World Triathlon.
Hosting the coaching course is an important stepping stone for Kuwait to help develop a stronger and more diverse national coaching body, as well as help spread our beautiful sport. The course is part of a series of development courses that Kuwait triathlon club will be hosting over the coming months. Together for Triathlon!“
New feature on the World Triathlon Education and Knowledge Hub: Race Preview
The new initiative from the World Triathlon Development Team is led by Emma Carney (AUS), two time world champion. The race previews will be presented as a 5-7min video highlight package identifying key skills and requirements of the race. The World Triathlon Development Team has designed this initiative for athletes to complement their coaches, the race organisers information and how athletes can prepare themselves for an event. The race reviews will be focusing on World Cup events. The first edition is about the 2022 World Triathlon Cup Huatulco in Mexico. The videos are available on the World Triathlon Education and Knowledge Hub.
Pontevedra ASICS World Triathlon Team
The primary objective of ASICS World Triathlon Team is to provide support, resources, and expertise to athletes from emerging/developing National Federations (NF Group* 2, 3B, 3A) with the potential to compete at the World Triathlon Cup level and qualify for the Paris Olympic Games.
The first ASICS World Triathlon Team of Paris Olympic cycle will kick off on 24 July at the 2022 World Triathlon Cup Pontevedra, Spain. The application is closed on 5 June 2022 and the Selection Panel has selected the following athletes as members of the ASICS World Triathlon Team:
