National coach Belgian Triathlon (Be3)
The Be3 is posting a vacancy with the following profile:
GENERAL
The National coach is responsible for the preparation, logistics and coaching of the National team for the European Championship, World Cup, OS, WC and WTCS competitions. Together with the Technical Directors, the National
coach makes the selections for European Championship, World Cup, OS (both individual and relays)
PROFILE ASSIGNMENT
- The National coach, together with the Technical Directors, makes the selections for European Championships, World Championships, OS (both individual and relays).
- The National coach is responsible for the transport, accommodation, clothing & entries for international
races.
- The National coach coaches athletes at competitions
- The National coach supports where necessary at competitions (e.g. as a mechanic).
- The National coach outlines the competition strategy after consulting the technical directors and the athletes.
- The National coach leads the post-competition debriefing with the athletes concerned and, if necessary, with other members of the coaching team (assistant coaches, the technical director, etc.).
- The National coach reports to the technical directors of both leagues after each race and makes a written report.
- The National coach should send the final composition of the delegation two weeks before the race and a final report one week after the race to Secretary General Be3.
- The National coach addresses the press in consultation with the Technical Directors.
- The National coach should send status updates of the race to a wider audience via the Be3, 3Vl and LF3 facebook page or other social media.
- The National coach has a facilitating role to defend National interests and keep the athletes and personal coaches aligned.
DIPLOMAS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Diplomas and/or certificates in sports and specifically for Triathlon or similar experience in Triathlon as an athlete/coach.
- Multilingual: practical knowledge of Dutch, French and English is required.
- Practical ICT knowledge (Word, Excel ...).
- Added value but not a must: knowledge of bicycle mechanics.
- The National coach does not train athletes ranked in the top 150 in the world rankings and must be exclusively at the disposal of the Belgian selection during these races (coaching athletes from other
countries during these races is not possible).
EXPERIENCE
- Experience as a coach or athlete at EC/WC/YOG/OS in Olympic disciplines.
- Experience in organising delegations.
- Knowledge of the international scene.
- Networking within Europe Triathlon and World Triathlon is a plus.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
The candidate will be employed half-time by BE3. On average, we count on 19h per week but this will fluctuate greatly throughout the year. March to November will be the busiest period.
