The International Triathlon Union (ITU) today named Weihai, China as the host city for the 2014 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships.
The 20th edition of the biggest event on the ITU long distance triathlon calendar will be held in the coastal city of Weihai in China’s northeastern Shandong province. “ITU is pleased to take our premier long distance event to Weihai, where an experienced team that has hosted various ITU events in the past and a well-tested infrastructure awaits. We are confident this event will be a great success,” said Marisol Casado, ITU President and IOC Member.
In addition to crowning the 2014 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Champions, the event will also include world championships in paratriathlon as well as hosting age-group triathletes from around the world.
