Triathlon Brasil joins Coach Education Partnership Programme

World Triathlon Development and Education is pleased to welcome Triathlon Brasil to the Coach Education Partnership Programme (CEPP) in 2023. The CEPP is focussed on those National Federations (NFs) that don’t have the full capability to create, develop or maintain their own Coach Education programs and courses. The aim of this program is for the World Triathlon to provide online content, support and guidance to enable NFs to run coach education initiatives in their own country to help develop the sport.

“Since 2005, Triathlon Brasil has invested in coach education through the development of its own program in order to meet the demands of the sport in the country and allow coaches to dig deeper into triathlon coaching, focusing on development and high-performance athletes alike. Over the years, hundreds of coaches have gone through the National Federation program, which has always been a reference for the quality of its content, supplying a solid resource for certified coaches.

“But Triathlon Brasil recently wanted to move forward by providing its coaches with a differentiated and substantial coach education program, one that could bring about better coaching practices and overall attributes that could be applied into coaching actions, allowing for future achievements in the sport – more development athletes and solid high-performance results.

“Triathlon Brasil is very happy to join World Triathlon CEPP program, which will take on our national triathlon coaches to an exclusive international certification program, enabling them to work at a higher level with their athletes and fellow coaches, as the significant contents of World Triathlon´s Education Hub will surely improve their coaching perspectives,” says Rodrigo Milazzo, World Triathlon Coach Facilitator and Triathlon Brasil´s CEPP project leader.

Triathlon Ireland has been benefiting from the CEPP since 2017 using L1, L2 and revalidation courses. This Partnership Programme is the key area covered by the World Triathlon Coach Education Partnership Programme Guide. The drive and direction for coach education activities within this programme is a shared concept between the NF and World Triathlon.

World Triathlon encourages National Federations to express interest in being involved in the CEPP by contacting development@triathlon.org

World Triathlon Coach Courses are currently available in English and Spanish. With this growing remit and increasing expectations on Triathlon coaches, it is critical that a clear and comprehensive approach to developing coach education is a key building block to ensure the future development of Triathlon.
