Celebrity Sightings in Kitzbühel

Along with the world’s best triathletes, many VIPs will be in Kitzbühel, Austria this weekend for the sixth round of the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series. Among the celebrities in the Austrian Alps this weekend are skiing champions Franz Klammer and Alberto Tomba, who represent the Laureus Sport For Good Foundation, the official charitable partner of the Series. Other honoured guests at the event include Brazilian model and star DJ Jesus Luz, Paralympic champion Thomas Geierspichler and Olympic Triathlon gold medallist Kate Allen.

“Triathlon is a spectatcular sport and is one of the fastest growing in the world,” said Tomba, who will present medals at the children’s triathlon on Friday. “I’m very much looking forward to my visit to Kitzbühel.”

Nico Roseberg, the German Formula 1 driver is also in town for the triathlon, and will be putting his bike handling skills to the test against some of the best triathletes in his age category.

Following the men’s Elite race on Saturday a number of the VIPs will be competing in a short-distance triathlon, consisting of a 100-metre swim, 3K bike and 1.8K run. Among the celebrities competing will be Tomba, Klammer, Geierspichler, as well as cycling stars Jorg Jaksche and Thomas Rohregger and snowboarding ace Marion Kreiner.

Following the VIP race, athletes and spectators will be able to enjoy a sunset party, with world famous DJ Jesus Luz providing the entertainment.
