Yiannis was inspired by the 2012 London Olympics to do something and get fit after coming home from work seeing the Triathlon on the TV. With no sporting background prior and unable to swim Yiannis started his journey. He had some long term injuries and nearly gave up, which lead to him to compete in Aquathlon (Swim/Run) where he qualified for GB in his age group for the European Aquathlon Championships 2016 where he achieved a Bronze medal there and at the National championships in his first year of the sport.
Combined with motivation and hard work Yiannis is determined to show anything is possible. In just a short period of time Yiannis had became a European Aquathlon Champion and a 2x National Champion in his Age Group as well as competing at 4 World Aquathlon Championships and three of these in the top 10. As well as this he as captain the British Triathlon Aquathlon team at the World and European Aquathlon championships.
All though Yiannis believes he has achieved more than he could ever imagined, his dream of representing GB in Triathlon was his goal. In 2019 he set his sights on getting in the team, with being a weak cyclists he has worked hard to improve in this area just like he did in swimming. In 2019 he qualified at his first attempted for the European Sprint Triathlon Championships.
