World Triathlon has formalised the acquisition of a new office at the Maison du Sports building in Lausanne, a move that will allow the International Federation to have an even greater presence in the Swiss city, considered by many as the Olympic capital.
In November 2022, World Triathlon Congress approved the allocation of funds to buy an office in Lausanne, where World Triathlon has been headquartered since 2011.
On 25 April, World Triathlon finalised the acquisition from FISU (International Federation of University Sports) of a floor of office space at the Maison du Sports in Lausanne, the same building where World Triathlon had a smaller office, and where 10 other International Federations have offices, along with other major international sports organisations including ASOIF and WADA.
“This move to a bigger space within the same building, the Maison du Sports, is key to consolidating our presence in the Olympic movement. For an organisation like ours, to have our headquarters so close to the International Olympic Committee and many other International Federations, that location is key to be involved in discussions, sharing of knowledge and the vibrant atmosphere that Lausanne has when it comes to international sport. It has been an extremely positive experience to have our headquarters there for over a decade, and now to move to a bigger office - one that we own - puts World Triathlon in an even stronger position for growth in the years to come”, explained World Triathlon President and IOC Member, Marisol Casado.
World Triathlon opened the Lausanne office, currently the headquarters of the organisation, in 2011, and has two other operational offices in Madrid and Vancouver.
