2007 San Francisco ITU Triathlon Pan-American Cup

United States9 Nov 2007 - 11 Nov 2007

Due to the recent 58,000-gallon oil spill into the San Francisco Bay, Tri-California Events, the United States Coast Guard, and city officials have determined that the water conditions off Treasure Island are not safe to proceed with the swim leg of the San Francisco ITU Triathlon Pan American Cup.

Despite cancelling the swim, the event will continue with the bike, and run portion held on Treasure Island.  The Olympic distance race (Saturday) will begin with a 7:15 am start for age-group athletes, and 12 noon start for the elite race as planned. The Sprint distance race (Sunday) will begin at 7:15 am for age-group athletes.

Participants and spectators are still encouraged to attend the three-day event complete with a sport fitness expo, age-group races, and elite race including the Tri-California Elite Series Championship. Event activities will commence today at 12:00 noon.
