Oceania Triathlon is looking for a Secretary General

Oceania Triathlon is looking for a Secretary General for the organization. The Secretary General is the chief administrative officer of Oceania Triathlon, responsible for the day-to-day management of the organisation in alignment with the strategic direction and decisions of the Executive Board. This role ensures operational excellence, governance compliance, and effective coordination with Member Federations and World Triathlon.

Location:
Flexible within the Oceania region (with travel as required)

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership
• Manage the daily operations of Oceania Triathlon under the guidance of the Executive Board.
• Set and manage budgets in collaboration with the President, ensuring financial discipline and transparency.

Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain strong relationships with national federations.
• Foster a close and collaborative working relationship with the Head of member services and development at World Triathlon.

Governance and Compliance
• Ensure Member Federations comply with governance standards in their interactions with Oceania Triathlon and World Triathlon.
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and the Operational Rules of Oceania Triathlon.

Board and Congress Administration
• Attend monthly on-line board meetings, which includes preparing the agenda and board pack, drafting an operational report for the meeting, and maintaining accurate records and minutes.
• Prepare annual reports for the Executive Board for presentation and approval at Congress.
• Maintain accurate records and minutes of Congress.
• Serve as an ex officio member of the Executive Board, with speaking rights but no voting rights.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience in sports administration, governance, or a related leadership role.
• Experience in budget management and organisational operations.

Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across the Oceania region.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in digital tools for communication, reporting, and record-keeping. Terms of Appointment:
• This is a contracted, fixed term role until 31 December 2028 (in line with the Continental Confederation Development Agreement with World Triathlon)
• This is a voluntary, unpaid role that will suit a person who is looking to build governance capability and work in a fun and vibrant sports environment.
