The Dutch Triathlon Federation (NTB) is seeking a full-time Elite Triathlon Coach.
The Organisation
The Dutch Triathlon Federation (NTB) is the organisation that encompasses all types of endurance-
combination sports in the Netherlands. One of the core tasks of the NTB is the support of all of her
members, clubs and race organisations. The Dutch Triathlon Federation has over 15.000 members
and has its base in Nieuwegein. Since 2007 the NTB has a National Elite Sport Centre in Sittard
(NTC), where athletes train on a daily basis to prepare for the Olympic Games. Due to the leave of
the current Head Coach Triathlon Elite from the NTC the Dutch Triathlon Federation is looking for a
Job Description
The Head Coach Triathlon Elite carries into effect the policy for the Elite Triathlon section of the
NTB and the technical activities corresponding with that policy.
Main tasks
-Heading the training- and racing program of the National Triathlon Selection, in agreement
with the long term elite triathlon policy of the NTB. The goal of that policy is to get the
best possible results at international championships and the 2012 London Olympic Games.
-Coaching of athletes in national and international competitions.
-Heading the team of assistants and specialists of the National Elite Sport Centre in Sittard.
-Advising the NTB in the area of elite triathlon policies and related matters.
Working Hours
-The working hours are irregular and are dependent on the program of the National
Triathlon Selection.
Demands / Competencies
-College / University level of working and thinking
-Has a proven track record in the area of executing triathlon programs with international
success
-Has the relevant diploma’s
-Has ample experience with coaching and leading complex organisations
-Has extensive knowledge and experience in the areas of physiology of sport and exercise,
monitoring and guiding of training
-Has excellent communicating skills, both verbal and in writing
-Has good organising skills
-Has good leadership skills
-Will commit himself to flexible working hours and (international) travelling
-Cannot fulfil a position with teams or clubs apart from being National Head Coach
-Is willing to settle in the region Sittard at the National Elite Sport Centre
-Endorses the NTB Elite Triathlon policy
Salary
Will be determined by mutual agreement, according to national sport law (CAO Sport).
