También texto en español. Triathlon Australia has honoured Brad Kahlefeldt and Emma Snowsill for their outstanding 2006 seasons at an awards function in Hobart. Both triathletes capped their seasons with top class performances on the ITU circuit.

Kahlefeldt won the 2006 athlete of the year award, which was judged by his peers. He took out the Commonwealth Games gold medal and also snared four World Cup races. Overall, he won 10 races last year from 13 starts.

Emma Snowsill, who won the athlete of the year title in 2005, and Kahlefeldt were also honoured for the best performances of the year. Snowsill won the honour for her third ITU world triathlon championship - she also took the Commonwealth Games title.

TA jointly gave the award to Kahlefeldt for his four ITU World Cup Triathlon wins in the one season.
The awards only covered TA’s high-performance program, which focuses on the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Olympic-distance world titles and the World Cup series.

Triathlon Australia ha premiado a Brad Kahlefeldt y a Emma Snowsill por su sobresaliente temporada de 2006 en una gala en Hobart. Ambos triatletas finalizaron su temporada entre los de mejor rendimiento en el circuito ITU.

Kahlefeldt ganó el galardón de Atleta del Año 2006, que fue elegido por sus compañeros. Se llevó la medalla de oro de los Juegos de la Commonwealth así como cuatro Copas del Mundo. En total ha ganado 10 carreras de las 13 en que participó el año pasado.

Emma Snowsill, quien ganó el título de Atleta del Año de 2005, y Kahlefeldt fueron galardonados por obtener el mejor rendimiento del año. Snowsill fue galardonada por hacerse con su tercer Campeonato del Mundo ITU de Triatlón – también se llevo los Juegos de la Commonwealth.-

Triathlon Australia otorgó el galardón a Kahlefeldt por sus cuatro vistorias en la Copa del Mundo ITU en la misma temporada.
Los galardones sólo incluían a los atletas del Programa de Alto Rendimiento, enfocado a los Juegos Olímpicos, los Juegos de la Commonwealth, títulos del mundo de Distancia Olímpica y de la serie de Copas del Mundo.
