There were plenty of moves over the 40km bike in Morocco after a huge group had swarmed onto the beach of Saidia, Morocco, together at the end of the 1.5km swim. That left Darr Smith (USA) and Bence Bicsak (HUN) hoping to hold on, but the likes of John Reed (USA), Callum McClusky (AUS), British newcomer Oliver Conway and the hugely experienced Tyler Mislawchuk would have plenty of firepower to pile on the pressure over the 10km run.
