Zsanett Horvath (HUN) and Ilya Prasolov (RUS) were imperious as they claimed victory in the ETU Junior European Cup in Istanbul.
Horvath dominated this race from start to finish as a dynamic swim set the tone as she exited the water clear in the lead, a lead she would never lose.
It was her second Junior European Cup victory of the year as her fine form in 2013 continues.
Behind her, Ipek Oztosun (TUR) ran the race of her life to finish in second place and claim Turkey’s first Junior silver medal to the delight of the home crowd.
It was a career best finish for Oztosun and in a race of firsts, Megane Van Steenwinckel (BEL) claimed the first European podium of her career with third place.
In the Junior Men’s race, Ilya Prasolov (RUS) won the first European Junior Cup of his career with a comfortable victory.
Prasolov was also one of the first athletes out of the water as he set the pace for the other athletes to chase.
The best of the rest was Erwin Vanderplancke (BEL) who finished second, just ahead of Eddie Van Heerden (RSA) who completed the podium.
