Tereza Zimovjanova (CZE) and Jorik Van Egdom (NED) joined the European Triathlon Union’s winners alumni as they claimed victory at the ETU Junior European Cup in Brno.
For both athletes this was their first Junior European Cup victories with Zimovjanova’s all the more sweeter coming on home soil.
Van Egdom has now racked up an impressive CV in his fledgling career – with this Junior Cup title adding to the ITU Junior Cross Triathlon World Championship and European Sprint Distance Duathlon titles he won last year.
In the Junior Women’s race, Zimovjanova was joined on the podium by the Austrian duo of Sara Skardelly and Pia Hehenwarter.
On a superb day for the Austrian Federation, Lukas Pertl finished second in the Junior Men’s race and Ron Lewinsohn (ISR) finished third.
