World Triathlon announces new location for Brazil World Cup, a women’s triathlon in the UAE and an Event Sustainability conference in Korea

World Triathlon is pleased to announce that the Executive Board has approved the new location for the Brazil World Cup, which will now be held in Florianópolis, on November 15-16, 2025. This exciting change of venue comes after the original Brasília World Cup, scheduled for October 25-26, was cancelled due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts in the Brazilian capital.

The Executive Board also gave the green light to a women-only triathlon event in Dubai. The race, which will take place on December 7, 2025 is part of an initiative to empower women through sport and promote gender equality and inclusion in triathlon, especially in the Middle East region.

World Triathlon is also pleased to announce that the Event Organisers Conference will take place in Tongyeong, Korea, on November 14, with the focus set on Sustainability at events. The event is organised in cooperation with the Korean Triathlon Federation and the city of Tongyeong. Detailed information about the programme and registration will be distributed in the upcoming days.

Florianopolis World Cup

Florianópolis, located in the state of Santa Catarina, and specifically the Jurerê Internacional area, offers an ideal setting for hosting a World Cup event. With its outstanding infrastructure, a strong history of hosting triathlon events, and excellent international flight connections from both Santiago and Lisbon, the city will greatly facilitate logistics for athletes and teams. The race will be contested over the sprint distance format, consisting of a 750m swim, a 20km bike leg, and a 5km run.

The Florianópolis World Cup will serve as the thrilling conclusion to the South American block of World Cups, offering athletes a fantastic series of racing opportunities. The South American block of races will kick off with the Viña del Mar (Chile) World Cup on November 2, followed by the San Pedro de la Paz (Chile) World Cup on November 9, before culminating in the Florianópolis event.

This concentrated series of races provides athletes with ample opportunities to compete, earn valuable ranking points, and experience the vibrant triathlon scene in South America.

Further details regarding the schedule, course maps, and other relevant information for the Florianópolis World Cup will be released in the coming weeks.

San Pedro de la Paz Para Cup

World Triathlon’s Executive Board also approved earlier to add to the schedule of the San Pedro de la Paz event a Para Cup, providing Para athletes from the American continent a great opportunity to grab valuable ranking points before putting an end to the season.
