Ten athletes elected to the World Triathlon Athlete Committee for 2025-29

The voting has closed, and World Triathlon can now announce the ten members of the new-look Athlete Committee ready to represent their peers and ensure that their voices are heard in the decision-making processes of the sport’s governing body.

Open to athletes who have been present on the World Triathlon Ranking within the last four years, the members for the period 2025-2029 are as follows:

Luisa Baptista (BRA)
Felix Duchampt (ROU)
Vincent Luis (FRA)
Claire Michel (BEL)
Mario Mola (ESP)
Gillian Sanders (RSA)
Martin Schulz (GER)
Non Stanford (GBR)
Luke Willian (AUS)
Gulnaz Zhubaeva (KGZ)

The election result takes into account the representation of all five continents, as well as maintaining a 50-50 male-female ratio and two Para triathletes, one of each gender, in accordance with World Triathlon rules.

Two members of the committee will be elected to become part of the World Triathlon Executive Board (one male, one female) at the first meeting of the new committee.

The role of athletes in the decision-making process of World Triathlon has been a fundamental principle of the organisation since its creation in Avignon, France, 1989.

The inclusion of two members of the Athletes Committee on the World Triathlon Executive Board has strengthened the role of the athletes and is an integral part of our continued success as an International Federation striving to be athlete-centred.
