Technical Officials Education, October 2025

October 2025 marked another strong month for World Triathlon’s Technical Officials Education Programme, with seminars and workshops held across multiple regions — both in-person and online — to enhance officiating standards and event delivery worldwide. These initiatives are designed to build technical capacity and strengthen the global triathlon officiating community.

Senegal Triathlon – Technical Officials & Event Organisers Community E-Seminar

The 2025 Senegal Triathlon World Triathlon Technical Officials Event Organisers Community E-Seminar was delivered to participants from the Senegal National Federation, preparing candidates for future Level 1 Technical Officials (TO L1) education on the way to Dakar 2026. The online seminar focused on foundational officiating principles and event management, supporting the development of triathlon in West Africa and paving the way for national certification pathways.

Wollongong World Triathlon Observers’ Program

Held alongside the 2025 World Triathlon Championship Finals in Wollongong, Australia, the Wollongong Observers Program provided a hands-on experience for participants as future TRI world championships and event hosts to gain insight into the operations of a world-class event. From accreditation and athlete registration to venue tours, ceremonies, and race operations — including Paratriathlon and Age-Group Mixed Relay events — participants experienced the complete event lifecycle firsthand. The program ran from 15–19 October, culminating with the Age-Group Mixed Relay closing ceremonies.

Kuala Lumpur – Technical Officials & Event Organisers Level 2 Seminar

The 2025 Kuala Lumpur World Triathlon Technical Officials & Event Organisers Level 2 Seminar brought together 12 participants from six National Federations — INA, PHI, SGP, MAS, JOR, and UAE — with a female participation rate of 33%. Approved by World Triathlon, this advanced course equipped officials with the theoretical and practical competencies required to officiate at Continental Cups, Multisport Continental Championships, and Multisport Series events as Technical Delegates and Event Organisers.

Manama – Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar

Delivered entirely in Arabic, the 2025 Manama World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar focused on developing regional officiating capacity across the Middle East. Participants from seven National Federations — UAE, PLE, LBN, KSA, SYR, QAT, and BRN — took part, with a female participation rate of 28%. This intensive one-and-a-half-day course prepared attendees to officiate at national-level events as Technical Delegates and at continental events as Technical Officials, ensuring consistent standards of fairness and safety across the region.

Manama To

Kota Kinabalu – Malaysia Triathlon  Level 1 Seminar (ATOEP)

The 2025 Kota Kinabalu MTA – World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar (ATOEP) marked a significant milestone as the first course delivered under the Malaysia Triathlon Association’s newly accredited ATOEP (Accredited Technical Officials’ Education Programme) status. The course welcomed 11 Malaysian participants, with 27% female representation, and focused on preparing officials to serve at Continental Cups and Multisport events. This accreditation highlights Malaysia Triathlon’s growing commitment to high-quality officiating and long-term programme sustainability.

Together, these October initiatives reflect World Triathlon’s ongoing dedication to building a globally connected and educated community of Technical Officials.
