Technical Officials Education | June 2026

June saw continued growth across the World Triathlon Technical Officials Education Programme, with new learning opportunities introduced alongside National Federation education initiatives that continue to strengthen the global officiating community.

New Re-Instatement E-Seminars Launched

June saw the launch of the  2026 World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 and Level 2 Re-Instatement E-Seminars.

Introduced last year, these online courses provide eligible Technical Officials who have recently lost their certification with the opportunity to regain their Level 1 or Level 2 status without attending a face-to-face seminar, provided reinstatement occurs within the first year of certification expiry.

The self-paced programme consists of 12 online modules completed over a two-month period, covering the latest developments in technical officiating, event management and the responsibilities of Technical Delegates across a range of competition levels.

The course has been designed to ensure experienced officials remain connected to the sport while maintaining the high standards expected across the World Triathlon Technical Officials pathway.

National Education Continues

June also saw the delivery of several National Federation Technical Officials education activities through the Accredited Technical Officials Education Programme (ATOEP).

The 2026 USAT – World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 E-Seminar welcomed 11 participants, with an encouraging 73% female participation rate, reflecting the continued growth in female representation within the technical officiating community.

In Canada, Triathlon Canada delivered its World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar, further strengthening the country's technical official workforce through the ATOEP programme.

Meanwhile, officials in Ohrid, North Macedonia, participated in the World Triathlon Technical Officials Level 1 Seminar, attended by the President of the North Macedonia Triathlon Federation, highlighting the National Federation's commitment to developing a strong and sustainable officiating pathway. The course was essential before hosting the 2026 Europe Triathlon Balkan Championships Ohrid.

'It was fun to see how the participants introduced each other! The role play during the seminar was particularly effective and engaging.'
