The Next Generation Challenge is quickly drawing to an end. The Challenge is an initiative of several coaches that has been supported by the ETU. This initiative is aimed at young athletes to assist them in their development. Especially in 2020, without the possibility to race internationally, the project provides a short-term goal and subsequent training preparation for youth and juniors and contribute in the
creation of a system that can be shared and used as a reference for European coaches and
athletes in their preparation and development.
It consists of a physical test that include a 400m swim and a 3000m run. These disciplines are classic indicators of an athlete’s aerobic capacities.
