On March 26-27th the beautiful city of Quarteira in Portugal will once again host the European triathlon Cup and the European Junior triathlon Cup. It’s one of the first ETU races of the year and it is once again ready to receive our best athletes starting to focus on the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Europe Triathlon Cup and Junior Cup of Quarteira have been on our calendar since 2009! Only in 2020, like many races, the event did not take place due to covid. The Portuguese Federation expects a strong field of the best Portuguese athletes, like Vasco Vilaça, João Silva, João Pereira and Melanie Santos, that will start their preparation for the qualifying journey in this race.
The ETU Junior race, where the Junior World Championship took place last year, will also receive the best athletes in the world, where the Portuguese world vice-champion, João Nuno Batista will be defending his flag.

Last year there were 73 elite male athletes at the start and the European Cup was won by David Castro, Spain. The elite women were 39 at the start and the top step of the podium was won by Lotte Miller, Norway.
We hope that this year will be a great race with numerous athletes, perhaps just a bit less hot and humid than last year!
