As the only race in the World Triathlon Series to have one of the Seven Wonders of Nature to overlook the course with Table Mountain looming in the background, Cape Town was one of the most picturesque locations on the calendar.

As the only race in the World Triathlon Series to have one of the Seven Wonders of Nature to overlook the course with Table Mountain looming in the background, Cape Town is one of the most picturesque locations on the calendar.

This year’s race was only the second time that Cape Town had hosted a WTS race. During the women’s race, a new face was finally able to stand on top of the podium as undefeated Gwen Jorgensen did not venture to the South African nation. This allowed Great Britain’s Vicky Holland to sweep in and deliver a phenomenal performance to claim her first-ever WTS title.

Compatriot Alistair Brownlee took home the gold in the men’s race. In his first race of the year, he showcased his improved fitness after a short injury hiatus and outran a four-man pack to get the victory.

With pictures as beautiful as these, it is going to be hard to select just one, but go ahead and try!
