Muñoz storms to Elite Cross Triathlon European title

De Castro claims Elite and U23 European Cross Triathlon titles

Spain's Eneko de Castro delivered a remarkable performance to secure both the Elite and U23 European Cross Triathlon titles in the men's race.

Despite suffering mechanical issues and a crash during the mountain bike leg, De Castro entered the second transition in third place before producing an outstanding run to take victory in 1:19:46. Czech athlete Lukas Kocar finished with silver, while Italy's Michele Bonacina completed the podium in bronze. Spain's Olympian Vicente Hernández placed fourth, just 12 seconds shy of the medals, with compatriot Kevin Tarek Viñuela finishing sixth.

In the U23 standings, Poland's Jan Chrzanowski claimed silver, while Spain's Alejandro Pla secured the bronze medal.

Muñoz dominates to take Elite European Cross Triathlon title

Spain's Marina Muñoz produced a commanding performance to claim the Elite European Cross Triathlon title, leading from the opening swim through to the finish in Banyoles.

Muñoz set the pace in the swim and maintained her advantage throughout the demanding mountain bike course and completed the run unchallenged to cross the line in 1:31:31. France's Alizée Paties secured the silver medal, while compatriot Emma Ducreux completed the podium with bronze.

Spain's Elsa Pena finished seventh overall and claimed the U23 silver medal, behind Great Britain's Mia Padmanabhan, who was crowned U23 European Champion. Fellow Spaniard Lucía Piñón was the third Spanish athlete home, placing fourth in the U23 standings.

Núñez retains Junior crown as Spain collects three junior medals

Spain celebrated further success in the Junior European Cross Triathlon Championships, with Alba Núñez adding the junior cross triathlon title to the junior cross duathlon gold she won earlier in the weekend.

The Spaniard took control of the race during the bike leg before extending her advantage on the run to secure gold. Italy's Serena Bratti finished second, while Spain's Amanda García completed the podium with bronze.

In the junior men's race, Belgium's Seppe Vanoverbeke claimed the European title after leading confidently throughout the race. Italy's Sebastiano Margaria earned silver, with Spain's Óscar Giral producing a strong final run to take the bronze medal.

Oliva crowned PTS5 European Champion

In the PTS5 category, Spain's Eduardo Oliva was crowned European Cross Triathlon Champion, leading home compatriot Jonay Pérez, who secured the silver medal.
