Moscow Makes History as First World Capital to Host a Full-Distance 226 km Triathlon

On 24-25 August 2024, Moscow hosted the large-scale sports festival 'LIGA TRIATLON & IRONSTAR MOSCOW 226.' Athletes competed in the long-distance triathlon over 226 km, middle-distance triathlon 113 km, as well as 5 km and 10 km running races, a children's race, the RTF Children's Cup, and the RTF Corporate Cup.

The festival also featured TRIForum, the Triathlon International Forum, which included the 2nd International Scientific and Practical Conference on Triathlon and the exhibition 'Sports Tech in Action”. More than 4,000 participants took part in the event.

The long-distance Triathlon in Moscow became a historic milestone, as it was the first time competition of its kind ever held in a global capital city. The oldest participant in the iron-distance race was 73-year-old Lyudmila Voronova. Paratriathletes also took part in the sports festival.
