In 1985 the Triathlon Team Liechtenstein (TTL) was officially founded after the successful participation at the first European Championship in Immenstadt (Germany) and the Nice Triathlon (France). In 1986 the Triathlon Team Liechtenstein was welcomed in the European Triathlon Union as a new member and a Liechtenstein Delegation was also present at the inaugural Congress of ITU in Avignon in 1989.

In 1993 the TTL became an officially recognised member of the Liechtenstein Olympic Committee. This year the Liechtenstein Triathlon Federation (TriFL) will celebrate its 30th anniversary. “A big celebration is planned on November the 7th and I hope as many triathletes and friends are joining us for this Party” says Philip Schädler, President of TriFL and one of the first triathletes in Liechtenstein.
