El canadiense Liam Donnelly se consagró campeón en la Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay 2026, tras imponerse en la categoría Elite Men con un tiempo de 56:16.
La competencia, disputada en Subic Bay Freeport Zone (Filipinas), reunió a atletas internacionales en un escenario costero destacado, bajo la organización de Triathlon Philippines en conjunto con Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, y con el aval de Asia Triathlon y World Triathlon.
En la prueba masculina, Donnelly cruzó la meta en primer lugar, seguido por el kazajo Daryn Konysbayev, quien se quedó con la medalla de plata, y el japonés Takuto Oshima, que completó el podio en la tercera posición.
Cabe destacar que el canadiense fue el único triatleta panamericano presente en la categoría Elite Men, logrando además quedarse con la victoria.
En la división Elite Women, también hubo presencia panamericana. La canadiense Alexandra Campbell finalizó en la sexta posición, mientras que la estadounidense Michelle Magnani fue séptima.
Por su parte, la brasileña Gabrielle Lemes se ubicó en el puesto 19, y la canadiense Jamie Harker finalizó en la posición 20.
En las categorías Junior Elite no se registró participación de triatletas panamericanos.
Liam Donnelly claims gold for Canada at Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay 2026
Canada’s Liam Donnelly secured victory at the Asia Triathlon Cup Subic Bay 2026, winning the Elite Men’s race with a time of 56:16.
The event, held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in the Philippines, brought together international athletes in a scenic coastal setting. It was organized by Triathlon Philippines in partnership with the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, and sanctioned by Asia Triathlon and World Triathlon.
In the men’s race, Donnelly crossed the finish line in first place, followed by Kazakhstan’s Daryn Konysbayev in second, and Japan’s Takuto Oshima in third.
Notably, Donnelly was the only Pan American athlete competing in the Elite Men’s field, and he went on to claim the gold medal.
In the Elite Women’s race, there was also Pan American representation. Canada’s Alexandra Campbell finished sixth, while USA’s Michelle Magnani placed seventh.
Brazil’s Gabrielle Lemes finished 19th, and Canada’s Jamie Harker placed 20th.
There were no Pan American athletes competing in the Junior Elite categories.
