Level 2 TO Seminar held in Incheon

ITU and ASTC held an ITU level 2 Technical Officials Seminar in Incheon to update TOs on changed rules and reinforce officiating skills ahead of the 2014 Asian Games.

Two facilitators, David Hoong from Singapore and Rachel Ribo from Philippines, shared their knowledge and experience with 23 TOs from nine countries. ITU selected candidates among ITOs with officiating experience in diverse international events.

Hoong expressed her satisfaction by saying that he and Rachel tried their best to make the course interactive by requesting group work and asking feedback from participants.

Dongchai expressed that they had good opportunities to get updated on all the rules before the Incheon Asian Games.

“We really enjoyed the course in the cooperative mood with our colleagues from other countries. I would like to thank David and Rachel for their efforts to share their knowledge and experience with us.”

Ki, ASTC Sports Development Coordinator, said, “Case studies and group work require participants to be interactive under the guidance of two facilitators. Also this course offers great opportunities for our TOs to see different perspectives that other TOs had in order to understand each other better. The course provides a good foundation for the success of Incheon Asian Games.”

The Next ITU-ASTC Sports Development project is the Level 1 TO course in Japan from November 1-2.
