World Triathlon is committed to staging and supporting many Development and Education projects in the Middle East, with the aim to drive awareness, engagement and participation in the sport of Triathlon at all levels.
As part of Kuwait Triathlon Federation’s mission to promote the sport of triathlon in Kuwait and in line with the national sports strategy by the Kuwait Olympic Committee and the Public Authority for Sports which is focused on promoting sports specifically to younger age groups and help develop professional athletes - Kuwait Triathlon launched the first edition of what will be an annual Kids Tri-It Series on October 8, the series took place over 3 consecutive weekends starting with an Aquathlon on October 8, Duathlon on October 15 and a Triathlon race that concluded the Tri-it series on October 22.
The series participation was capped to ensure it met COVID-safe guidelines, a total of 230 youngsters joined the “Tri-it” series between the ages of 6 to 13. The Tri-it Series took place in the Kuwait Olympic Committee sports facilities which is also Kuwait Triathlon Headquarters.
The event series was a great success, highlighting the importance of sports for youth as well as bringing a great community together, in a fun and safe racing environment. All young athletes crossed the finish line successfully and the event was organised by the competitions committee and all the committee members, in collaboration with suffix sports management company and the technical committee at Kuwait Triathlon.
