ITU Winter Triathlon European Cup 2011

The Winter Triathlon consists of running, mountain-biking and cross-country skiing (skating) on snow. The first European Cup was established by the European Triathlon Union (ETU) in 1996 and the first European Championships was organised in Malles (ITA) in 1998.

The European Cup 2011 consists of 6 races including the European Championships and is included in the ITU Winter Triathlon World Ranking.



Points/European Ranking
European points are awarded in all races. In a European Cup race, the first ten finishers will receive ETU points and in European Championships the first twenty finishers will receive points. The best three race results will count towards the European Cup competition.

Prize Money
The total prize money for the series is €5000. The first five men and women in the Cup Ranking are eligible for prize money. The payout is as follows:


The Cup and prizes will be awarded after the ETU Winter Triathlon European Championship race at Ostersund.

Rules
ITU Competition rules are in place to cover rules and regulations associated with Winter Triathlon events. All technical matters are handled by the ITU/ETU Technical Delegate at each race.

Race Entry
The European Cup is open to elite and age group athletes. Race Entry is via National Federations or directly through the LOC.  Only elite athletes that are entered by their National Federations through the ITU entry system will qualify for European Cup points.
