ITU hosts Level 3 TO course in Mexico City

4th Dec, 20121 min read

With the support of the Mexican Triathlon Federation, ITU and PATCO recently held a Level 3 Technical Officials course in Mexico City. Nine representatives from seven National Federations participated and observed the course.

The attendees were required to have at least two years experience as a Level 2 official, as well as have officiated at four ITU events.

ITU’s Thanos Nikopoulos, Enrique Quesada and Leslie Buchanan were onsite to lead the three-day course, which aimed to create a more structured pathway for technical officials. Topics such as World Championship venues and technical operations and Olympic Games’ policies were reviewed.

Participants were also educated on team relay and paratriathlon operations, as well as communication strategies amongst TOs, athletes and coaches.

ITU would like to thank the Mexican Triathlon Federation for assisting ITU and PATCO on this course.
