With the 2008 ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Champions crowned, it’s already time to look ahead to next year’s event, which sees the event return to Australia. Canberra hosted in 2006 but Perth will welcome the long distance stars in October 2009. After the distance was increased to triple Olympic distance for Almere, it will revert back to double Olympic distance (3km swim, 80km bike, 20km run) for Perth.
The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and Triathlon Australia have announced early details around the world championships including course information, a preliminary schedule and tourist information for Perth.
