ITU Asia Sport Development Camp in Kuala Lumpur

ITU Asia Sport Development Camp Kuala Lumpur was our second stop on the Asia’s Sport Development Project’s schedule. The project is a combination of talent ID program & sustainable coaching development. Seven coaches and 21 athletes, aged between 13 - 21 years old, from Malaysia and Singapore attend the Development Project. Athletes received a continuous support from their parents on location.

'I am certain that our project and goals have been met in Malaysia. We provided coaches with more opportunities to practice their coaching skills during the training sessions. They started with a coaching meeting at 6 AM to overlook the day's particle sessions and to refine coaching concepts' Said Ki, Woo Kyong, ASTC Sport Development Coordinator.

'We adopted a new schedule in Malaysia. It helped the athletes to receive more coaching support. Coaches had to endure a tighter schedule and required them to focus on group tasks' Said Luc Morin, ITU expert.

'We learned a lot over the last 3 days. Luc Morin, ITU expert coach, kept asking us to think twice on our training plan and goals. This process makes us understand training concepts and adopt new training skills and theory' Said Peter Lau, Malaysian National Team coach.

Next stop : Chiang Mai, Thailand Aug 28-30, 2012.
