Europe Triathlon and Asia Triathlon Strengthen Ties at Joint Executive Board Meeting in Istanbul

Europe Triathlon and Asia Triathlon held a historic Joint Executive Board Meeting in Istanbul on 29 August 2025, marking an important milestone in strengthening cooperation between the two Continental Confederations under the theme “Building Bridges.”

Both Presidents underlined the importance of the first joint Triathlon Championships as a unique opportunity to build long-term legacy, foster collaboration, and exchange knowledge across continents. They agreed on the importance of reserving specific, exclusive time windows in the global race calendar for future Continental Championships.

The Executive Boards also agreed to establish a Joint Committee to oversee collaborative projects, including youth development, technical cooperation, and knowledge sharing. Plans to strengthen ties with World Triathlon and training programs were highlighted.

The next formal meeting between the two Confederations will take place in Wollongong, Australia, during the World Championships, where a formal cooperation agreement is expected to be signed.
