Italy's Noemi Bogiatto secured a dominant victory to claim both the Elite and U23 European Cross Duathlon titles. Crossing the finish line in 1:30:39, Bogiatto finished almost two minutes clear of the Netherlands' Dieske Kruisselbrink, who took silver, while Ukraine's Sofiya Pryyma completed the elite podium with bronze.
In the U23 standings, Spain's Lucía Gracia earned the silver medal to add to the European Cross Duathlon title she won earlier in the week, with Spain's Zoila Sicilia finishing fifth. Spain's María del Pilar Arias narrowly missed the elite podium after a strong final run saw her finish fourth overall.
The men's race saw Belgium's Thibaut de Smet live up to pre-race expectations with a commanding performance from the opening stages. De Smet crossed the line in 1:16:56 to secure the Elite European Cross Duathlon title, ahead of France's Arthur Forissier in second and Belgium's Sebastien Carabin in third.
In the U23 category, Spain's Javier Álvarez claimed the bronze medal after finishing seventh overall. Fellow Spaniards Sergio Correa and Francisco Javier Pelegrín rounded out the home nation's leading finishers in ninth and fifteenth respectively.
Spain shines in the Junior races
The Junior European Cross Duathlon Championships saw Spain enjoy an outstanding day, with Óscar Giral and María Tenorio taking the European titles.
Tenorio led an all-Spanish women's podium, with Luz Ferrández claiming silver and Amanda García bronze. In the junior men's race, Italy's Sebastiano Margaria secured the silver medal, while Aleksei Trofimenko claimed bronze behind champion Giral.
Para Cross Duathlon
Spain's Jonay Pérez added the PTS5 European Cross Duathlon title to the silver medal he won in the European Cross Triathlon Championships earlier in the week, while Romania's Robert Tamirjan claimed another gold medal after already claiming one in the Cross Triathlon Championships and Duathlon Championships.
