Anti-doping Survey Results

Recently, ITU elite athletes had an opportunity to take part in an Anti-doping Survey. This survey will serve to shape ITU’s Anti-doping programme for the next few years.  Over the past few weeks, we revealed the perception of athletes with regards to whether or not triathlon is a clean sport.  This week we will show how the athletes answered about what they would like to see ITU do to combat drug use.  There were 132 responses. This is the final question of the survey.

1. What would you like to see ITU do to combat drug use in triathlon?

Online Education – 13%
Education at Races – 9%
Athlete Ambassador Program – 7%
More out of competition testing – 31%
More in competition testing – 21%
Blood biological passport – 19%

Athletes were given the option of offering their own suggestions for ITU’s Anti-doping programme.  Thank you to all the athletes who participated in this survey.
