1770 Kiwi Tryathletes!

By Triathlon Webmaster11th Nov, 20051 min read

We all know that New Zealand has more athletes per population than any other country in the world, but it is still surprising to stage a triathlon for kids and have 1770 enthusiastic youngsters show up.

The 2005 Weetabix Triathlon staged in New Plymouth was part of the multisport festival that culminates in Sundays World Cup finale.

Olympic gold medalist Hamish Carter was on hand to cheer the kids on and to present each one with a winners medal.
