Welcome to Day 1 of the 2023 World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships Hamburg, one of the major events of the season. One of the most iconic race venues in the circuit is all ready to welcome thousands of competitors from all over the world. And there’s quite a lot on the menu for the first day of competition. All the Age-Groupers are invited to the Parade of Nations that will start at 15h, with the Opening Ceremony taking place at 15.30h. And this is only the warm up. The Junior Women World Championships will start at 17h, followed by the Men’s Junior World Championships at 18h, and you can watch both races live on TriathlonLIVE.tv.
15.38h. Over 1700 age-group athletes from 37 National Federations will compete at the Age-Group Sprint Championships this Friday, but before that, it is time for displaying some flags and showing some dance moves on the Parade of Nationa. Come and join the party if you are in Hamburg!

17.00h It is the turn now for the Women’s Junior World Championships. Throw in names of past champions such as Taylor Knibb and Nicola Spirig, and there can be no doubt that the athletes lining up in Hamburg this afternoon for a shot at this year’s prize will know just how valuable experiencing this early-career glory could be.
18.15h. The Junior women did put up a show in Hamburg this afternoon, with Ilona Hadhoum (FRA), the current Junior/U23 Mixed Relay champion, produced a fantastic race to claim the Junior World crown. She was followed on the finish line by Mexico’s Jimena Renata De La Peña Schott, and another French rising star, Manon Laporte, grabbed the bronze medal.
