World Triathlon Rules update for SupertriE and T100 events

World Triathlon’s Executive Board has approved a Competition Rules update that affects SupertriE and T100 rules, following the recommendation of the World Triathlon Technical Committee, and approved by both Supertri and the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO). Check here the World Triathlon Competition Rules, and read bellow the updates recently approved:

Competition Rules - Appendix S - SupertriE

The changes provide a more flexible framework depending if the event is happening in an 8 or 10-lane pool, and depending if the start list is full (30 athletes per gender) or less.

It is in line with the new format that the new platform (MyWoosh) can support: A continuous Swim-Bike-Run-Swim-Bike-Run for the heats and a continuous Swim-Bike-Run-Swim-Bike-Run-Swim-Bike-Run for the finals.

Competition Rules - Appendix V - T100

To apply changes to align with the World Triathlon Competition Rules update announced earlier this year (1-minute drafting penalty, bike penalty box) and to put the Rules in line with the changes of the General Rules (exceptional conditions).

T100 Ranking Criteria - 2025

The new name of the Ranking includes a commercial brand. Slight increase in the points from position 2 to 4 for the T100 events and from position 2 to 13 for the T100 Final. Four events to count instead of three, due to more events in the season. Slight changes in the determination of the order in case of a tie in the total points.

T100 Race to Qatar Standings (former T100 Ranking Criteria) - 2025

Annual update on the allocation of the permanent contract. Reference to the Maternity Policy. Three qualification slots are guaranteed via rankings before the invitations.

Inclusion of Age-Group Qualification to the T100 Final.

Keeping the NF quota system as in any of our other events, but adding the possibility of earning slots via the T100 Tour events on top of the NF quota. All athletes will need to be approved by the National Federation when entering the Age-Group Championships, no matter how the quota was earned.

PTO Contender Rankings - 2025

A new ranking was introduced for the purpose of qualification to the T100 events and also to allocate prize money for overall positions 21-60. The ranking is based on the PTO ranking system, with the limitation of how many Long- and Middle-distance events count. There is a limitation that those athletes refusing an annual contract will not be considered for this ranking.

T100 Prize Money Information - 2025

Updates the prize money of each event (including the Final) and the distribution of the bonus pool.

Competition Rules - Appendix K - 13

After input from athletes and consultation with the Athletes Committee, we propose to make the ruling related to nails more flexible in the first year.
