Triathlon New Zealand signs 2XU as Sponsor

Triathlon New Zealand (Tri NZ) has signed 2XU, one of the worlds fastest growing high performance sporting apparel brands, as an official sponsor of a fast growing national sporting body.  The extensive partnership appoints 2XU exclusive Official Supplier status of Tri NZ across the four apparel categories of Triathlon, Compression, Wetsuits and Casual Training, from now until October 2011.

Tri NZs desire to work with a supplier that produces apparel which not only enhances the aesthetic appearance but competitive performance of its athletes placed 2XU as the ideal apparel partner for the coming years.  Furthermore, 2XUs international reputation among triathletes as a brand which has critically considered every element of the three discipline sport placed it as the number one contender for the highly sought account.

As official compression apparel supplier to the New Zealand Academy of Sport and sponsor of numerous annual events including the 2008-09 Stroke & Stride, Wellingtons leading 2008-09 Contact Scorching Triathlon series, the Challenge Wanaka long distance triathlon and MORE FM Tri Woman Series in 2009, 2XUs Tri NZ sponsorship further articulates the global brands rapid New Zealand ascent.  Last month, 2XU also opened the doors of its first New Zealand store in Newmarket, Auckland. 

From now until 2011, 2XU endeavours to work closely with Tri NZ to promote active lifestyles and the achievement of inspirational goals through triathlon at all levels.  To this end, 2XU will boast a critical presence at NZ Tris annual domestic events including the New Plymouth World Triathlon Festival (incorporating the ITU World Cup), and provide high performance apparel for the Tri NZ teams competing in the four annual ITU World Championship events being Triathlon, Long Distance Triathlon, Duathlon and Long Distance Duathlon. 

Throughout its triathlon range, 2XU combines leading fabric with intelligent design and quality construction to deliver the most versatile and balanced triathlon performance product available.  Each 2XU garment is a finely crafted product which brings together world-leading fabrics in one intricate, intelligent creation.

In announcing the partnership, Tri NZ CEO Dave Beeche acknowledged the intense competition in a fast growing and highly specialised market sector.
