The Madrid 2023 Europe Triathlon Championships events for Sunday 4 June will go on a DUATHLON

Dear athletes,

After the heavy rainfall in Madrid this night, the Medical Committee have decided that the Madrid 2023 Europe Triathlon Championships events planned for Sunday 4 June will go on a DUATHLON format. The rainfall tonight has changed again the conditions on the lake were the swim will take place, and putting the health and safety of all athletes first, the TD team and the Medical Team onsite have consulted with the Medical Committee and the Crisis Advisory Group with the support of Europe Triathlon, and it has been decided to go back to a DUATHLON race.

The starts will be a rolling start every minute, starting at 8am and every minute. The first run will be at the Casa de Campo. The bike will stay the same, in the Casa de Campo. The second transition will be as planned at the Casa the Campo. The second run will be from T2 to the finish line at Palacio Real.
