During the week of 4 to 8 July, held in Edmonton, Canada, two of sports development activities most important to the American continent.
ITU Level 2 Coaches Course
Beginning Monday April, twelve coaches of different countries gathered in the living room Glacier, Lister Centre at the University of Alberta, to become certified at Level 2 ITU training.
Led by facilitators Gale Bernhardt and Luc Morin, and coordinated by the ITU Sport Development Director, Libby Burrell, the coaches used the facilities of the Kinsmen Centre for swimming sessions, and track training college for cycling practices and running.
'I thank the ITU and PATCO this Level 2 training has allowed me to improve myself,' said Luis Lopez of Puerto Rico.
ITU Level 2 Technical Officials Course
For the same purpose of training resource in the Sutton Place Hotel, 101 street Edmonton, fourteen officials participated in the ITU Technical Officials Level 2 certification.
Attendees, who have participated in competitions in the world, were trained in the functions of the technical delegate and officials in different areas of triathlon development.
Some of them will be officiating at the ITU Beijing World Championships and 2011 Guadalajara Pan American Games.
