La ciudad de Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, será sede de las competencias de triatlón de los XXV Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Santo Domingo 2026, que se disputarán del 1 al 3 de agosto en un circuito diseñado sobre Playa San Soucí, en Avenida España y Avenida George Washington, ofreciendo un escenario ideal para una de las competencias más importantes del calendario regional.
Reconocidos como el evento multideportivo regional más antiguo del continente americano avalado por el Comité Olímpico Internacional (COI), los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe volverán a reunir a los mejores atletas de la región en una celebración del deporte, la integración y la excelencia competitiva.
En lo que respecta al triatlón, la programación contempla las pruebas Elite Masculina, Elite Femenina y Relevos Mixtos, con la participación de más de 50 triatletas provenientes de distintos países del continente. Las competencias individuales Elite se disputarán el 1 de agosto, mientras que la prueba de Mixed Relay cerrará la actividad el 3 de agosto.
La competencia se desarrollará bajo el formato sprint, en un circuito que recorrerá algunos de los sectores más emblemáticos del litoral de Santo Domingo, ofreciendo un espectáculo deportivo de primer nivel tanto para los atletas como para el público presente.
Los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe cuentan con una rica historia que comenzó en 1926, cuando se celebró la primera edición en Ciudad de México. Desde entonces, el evento ha experimentado un crecimiento constante, pasando de reunir a tres países y 269 deportistas a convocar actualmente a 37 naciones y miles de atletas, consolidándose como una de las competencias multideportivas más importantes del continente.
A lo largo de su historia, los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe han servido como plataforma para el desarrollo de numerosos atletas que posteriormente alcanzaron el éxito en campeonatos mundiales y Juegos Olímpicos, además de fortalecer los lazos deportivos y culturales entre los países de Centroamérica y el Caribe.
La edición 2026 representa una nueva oportunidad para que los mejores triatletas de la región compitan por las medallas y sumen una actuación destacada en uno de los eventos más tradicionales del calendario deportivo continental.

Santo Domingo set to host triathlon competitions at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games
The city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, is ready to host the triathlon competitions of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, scheduled to take place from 1 to 3 August on a course set along San Soucí Beach, Avenida España and Avenida George Washington, providing the perfect stage for one of the region's premier sporting events.
Recognized as the oldest regional multi-sport event in the Americas sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Central American and Caribbean Games will once again bring together the region's top athletes in a celebration of sport, unity and athletic excellence.
The triathlon programme will feature the Elite Men's, Elite Women's and Mixed Relay events, with more than 50 triathletes from across the Americas set to compete. The Elite individual races will be held on 1 August, while the Mixed Relay will conclude the triathlon competition on 3 August.
The races will be contested over the sprint-distance format, with athletes competing on a course that showcases some of Santo Domingo's most iconic waterfront locations, promising world-class competition for both participants and spectators.
The Central American and Caribbean Games boast a rich history dating back to 1926, when the inaugural edition was held in Mexico City. Since then, the Games have grown from just three participating nations and 269 athletes to an event featuring 37 countries and thousands of competitors, establishing themselves as one of the most prestigious multi-sport competitions in the Americas.
