The 2025 Kampar Asia Triathlon - World Triathlon Development Regional Camp welcomed 33 athletes from across Asia for a week of skill development, education, and collaboration.
Maintaining a strong commitment to gender balance, with 30% female participation, athletes from 10 National Federations featured - HKG, SGP, KGZ, PHI, JOR, KSA, MAS, IRI, QAT, and THA. Adding prestige and encouragement to the camp were two special guests
- Mr. Tony Tan, President of the Malaysia Triathlon Federation, and
- Mr. Abdulla Al-Kaabi, Executive Board Member of Asia Triathlon, who addressed the athletes and emphasised the importance of regional collaboration and long-term athlete development.
Led by experienced World Triathlon facilitators -Lini Kazim (MAS) and Francesco Fissore (ITA) - there was a strong focus on race preparation, technical and tactical development, and athlete education, all tailored to the needs of emerging triathletes in the region regarding race preparedness.
The camp concluded with many participants taking part in the 2025 World Triathlon Regional Cup Kampar, enabling them to put their learning into practice in a competitive setting. The successful integration of education and competition highlighted the strength of the World Triathlon Development model and its impact on the region’s future elite athletes.
