Oceania Triathlon Announces 2026 Events Calendar
Oceania Triathlon today unveiled its 2026 events calendar, headlined by Auckland hosting the Oceania Para Championships, the first time this prestigious event will be held in New Zealand.
Another major highlight is the addition of two Development Regional Cups, set for Guam and Tahiti, reinforcing Oceania Triathlon’s commitment to providing more competitive opportunities for National Federations across the Pacific.
Speaking on the eve of the Development Camp and Regional Cup in Fiji (8–14 December 2025), Oceania Triathlon President Pete de Wet expressed his excitement about the upcoming season:
“We’ve worked closely with Triathlon New Zealand and AusTriathlon to shape a dynamic Elite Calendar, featuring two events each in New Zealand and Australia across Standard, Sprint, Mixed Relay, and Super Sprint formats.
We’re also thrilled to confirm two Development Regional Cups for 2026, one in Guam in March and another in Tahiti in August. The Tahiti event will double as the official test event for the 2027 Pacific Games.”
The Oceania National Federations met during the World Triathlon Championship Series Finals in Wollongong in October, where a key focus was creating a connected, inclusive calendar that reflects the entire Oceania region.
“Our federations spent a full day workshopping the new strategy, including the events calendar for the next three years. There was a strong desire for a schedule that better represents the Pacific, and today’s announcement shows our commitment to that,” added de Wet.
