Young South African athletes have been performing great in the European Cups, placing in the top 20 and even winning races. Seventeen-year-old Wian Sullwald won the 2010 Bled ETU Triathlon Junior European Cup held earlier this year. “Within triathlon, my proudest moments have been, being selected for the Youth Olympics, and winning the 2010 African Duathlon Champs”, Sullwald said.

Second place went to nineteen-year-old Rudolf Naude. Henri Schoeman, also nineteen placed eighteenth in the race.
